I saw a documentary this weekend about sharks. It's has been getting very good reviews and has already won quite a few awards and is being compared to March of the Penguins. I was able to meet and speak with Rob Stewart who wrote, directed and produced the film and some of the people who started Greenpeace and they asked us to get the word out. It's about sharks and how people perceive them and how they are being depleted because of the demand for fins. It mentions the use of long lines which are lines covered in hooks that stretch as far as 60 miles which were being used in Galapagos Islands and Costa Rica. The governments there are allowing this due to threats from local fishermen. There's is more information and trailers at www.sharkwater.com. The soundtrack from Sharkwater is very good as well. It's coming here in September.
