We had a dinner for parents of students and teachers this evening. One of students parents hosted it and everyone else brought something that was Thai. I didn't really know many recipes related to this and went by Siam after work and ordered a couple of appetizers. When I went to pick them up I ran into a few of the parents picking up orders as well. We asked each other what we ordered and were relieved that we didn't get the same thing.
The house that it was hosted at is an old three story Victorian in the historic district belonging to Liz and Rich Salem whose daughter Emma is 4 years old. She was adopted from China and requested that she be called Goldilocks on her first day at school :).
The dinner went very well. I think between 25-30 people were there. It was good to see everyone and to get to know the parents better. Everything always seemed so rushed when students are being picked up and dropped off at school.
